Soundwalk – Emerging Writers Festival x State Library Victoria

What will the library look like in 2222? Have humans shot for the stars, leaving the last of our histories within a supercomputer at the heart of the La Trobe Reading Room? Will the walls of the Redmond Barry Reading Room be lined with the spines of holographic titles?

In this immersive sound walk, the far future of State Library Victoria has been imagined by six emerging writers and contains everything from from robot librarians to a biological bank storing extinct species’ DNA. Guests were invited to pop on some headphones and hear visions of utopias, dystopias and more.
